Zynk vs Quick Share

Quick Share handles Android-to-Android and Android-to-Windows transfers well. But the iPhone path detours through a QR code and Google's servers, capped at 10 GB a day, and there's no Linux, macOS, or CLI. Zynk runs natively on every platform and keeps files in a conversation with each device and contact.

One app on every desktop, phone, and TV

  • Your workflow crosses Android, iOS, macOS, Linux, Windows on ARM, or an Android TV.
  • You want a menu-bar tray with online contacts and drag-drop, not just a system handoff.
  • You want to right-click a file in Finder or Explorer and send it without opening the main window.
  • You want share links, drop links, and a CLI alongside nearby transfer.

What we noted

  • Quick Share handles Android-to-Android nearby transfers well. It's built into Android 6+, works with Chromebooks, auto-accepts between devices on the same Google Account, and now has limited AirDrop interoperability on compatible Android devices.
  • Between two Android phones on the same Google Account, Quick Share is already there and automatic. Zynk matters once an iPhone, a Mac, a Linux box, or a server has to join in.
